instrument
consisting
of
a
steel
blade
curved
into
the
form
of
a
hook
,
and
having
a
handle
fitted
on
a
tang
.
The
sickle
has
one
side
of
the
blade
notched
,
so
as
always
to
sharpen
with
a
serrated
edge
.
