stem

high

crowned
with
a
tuft
of
large
,
long-stalked
,
palmately
lobed
leaves
.
The
milky
juice
of
the
plant
is
said
to
have
the
property
of
making
meat
tender
.

dull
orange-colored

melon-shaped

which
is
eaten

raw

cooked

pickled
