Definition of Chatter

Chat´ter
v. i.1.To utter sounds which somewhat resemble language, but are inarticulate and indistinct.
[imp. & p. p. Chattered ; p. pr. & vb. n. Chattering.]
The jaw makes answer, as the magpie chatters.
