hard

compact
variety
of
mineral
coal
,
of
high
luster
,
differing
from
bituminous
coal
in
containing
little
or
no
bitumen
,
in
consequence
of
which
it
burns
with
a
nearly
non
luminous
flame
.
The
purer
specimens
consist
almost
wholly
of
carbon
.

blind coal
.
