gastropods

and
allied
genera
,
of
the
family
Vermetidæ
.
Their
shells
are
regularly
spiral
when
young
,
but
later
in
life
the
whorls
become
separate
,
and
the
shell
is
often
irregularly
bent
and
contorted
like
a
worm
tube
.
