steam
heated
to
a
temperature
higher
than
the
boiling
point
corresponding
to
its
pressure
.
It
can
not
exist
in
contact
with
water
,
nor
contain
water
,
and
resembles
a
perfect
gas
; -
called
also
surcharged steam
,
anhydrous steam
,
and
steam gas
.
