A
division
of
marine
gastropods
having
a
retractile
proboscis
and
three
longitudinal
rows
of
teeth
on
the
radula
.
It
includes
many
of
the
large
ornamental
shells
,
as
the
miters
,
murices
,
olives
,
purpuras
,
volutes
,
and
whelks
.
