white
robe
with
a
purple
border
,
worn
by
a
Roman
boy
before
he
was
entitled
to
wear
the
toga virilis
,
or
until
about
the
completion
of
his
fourteenth
year
,
and
by
girls
until
their
marriage
.
It
was
also
worn
by
magistrates
and
priests
.
