Pla`coph´o`ra   Pronunciation: plå`kǒf´ô`rå
n. pl.1.(Zool.) A division of gastropod Mollusca, including the chitons. The back is covered by eight shelly plates. Called also Polyplacophora. See Illust. under Chiton, and Isopleura.
