genus
Maclura

Maclura
aurantiaca
),
closely
allied
to
the
mulberry
(
Morus
);
also
,
its
fruit
.
The
tree
was
first
found
in
the
country
of
the
Osage
Indians
,
and
bears
a
hard
and
inedible
fruit
of
an
orangelike
appearance
.
