pupil

and
perpendicular
to
the
surface
of
the
eye
.

anterior
and
posterior
surfaces

it
is
in
the
direction
of
the
optic
axis
that
objects
are
most
distinctly
seen
.

in
the
direction
of
which
no
double
refraction
occurs
.
A
uniaxial

has

such

,

has
two
