India

Australia

etc
.,
which
have
the
leaves
prolonged
into
a
kind
of
stout
tendril
terminating
in
a
pitcherlike
appendage
,
whence
the
plants
are
often
called
pitcher
plants
and
monkey-cups
.
There
are
about
thirty
species
,
of
which
the
best
known
is
Nepenthes
distillatoria
.
