It
contains
tannin

was
formerly
used
in
medicine

but
is
now
chiefly
used
in
tanning
and
dyeing

Myrobolans
are
produced
by
various
species
of
Terminalia
of
the
East
Indies
,
and
of
Spondias
of
South
America
.
