Definition of Minor orders

(Eccl.) the rank of persons employed in ecclesiastical offices who are not in holy orders, as doorkeepers, acolytes, etc.
(R. C. Ch.) orders beneath the diaconate in sacramental dignity, as acolyte, exorcist, reader, doorkeeper.
