a
swollen
condition
of
the
leg
,
usually
in
puerperal
women
,
caused
by
an
inflammation
of
veins
,
and
characterized
by
a
white
appearance
occasioned
by
an
accumulation
of
serum
and
sometimes
of
pus
in
the
cellular
tissue
.
