Definition of Chondropterygii

Chon`drop`te`ryg´i`i
n. pl.1.(Zool.) A group of fishes, characterized by cartilaginous fins and skeleton. It includes both ganoids (sturgeons, etc.) and selachians (sharks), but is now often restricted to the latter.
